Peace Dome

In In the pursuit of bringing a culture of Peace to children and youth, Artist John Devaraj has designed and built the PEACEDOME,  that will showcase the elements of the Worldpeacemuseum.

The Peacedome is a replica of the Gembaku Dome in Hiroshima. Gembaku{meaning bombed} is a monument preserved in the National Peace Park to symbolize and remind us of the effects of the  A-Bomb destructive power.

It is a 30ft Diameter Dome dismountable structure made of 50mm diameter steel tubes. The inside of the Dome on a  stretched canvas  is painted with the 5000 years of War and Peace. On the Outside will be stretched a canvas on which children will paint. The Legacies of Legends sculptures will be exhibited alongside the Peacedome. The Peace dome will be setup on a Basketball court or a small open place. It can accommodate about 30 children in a show with audio visual presentations.

The Dome diameter is 30 ft, rising to a height of 15ft. made up of Inside the frame is a stretched a canvas about 30 meters. Topped with waterproof material.

On the canvas, {inside part of the dome} will be painted the images of war, peace and prophets.

There are 20 pavilions and themes in the worldpeacemuseum which will be painted on the canvas

The crown of the dome is the metaphorical Cock crowing from the World of Gondwanaland {the undivided land mass}  It is the window to sky with the light falling through illuminating the whole inside of the Peacedome.

6 The story of Vietnam, The girl in the picture and the valiant resistance of her people.
7 The History of origins of WWI ~ WWII
8~The Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
9 The Nanking Massacre
10 The killing of Mahatma Gandhi, his Vision of and  practice of Non Violence
11 Colonization and occupation wars.
12 The lost generation, About Australian, New Zealand Aborigines.

The activity inside the dome will be viewing the pictures, film shows and dialogue, dance, poetry reading
Schools and College students, youth groups will be invited to the continuous exhibition.
Outside the PEACEDOME will be placed sculptures of Prophets of Peace,
Legends who took society forward: 1 Buddha, 2 Spartacus, 3. Jesus, 4 Basavana, 5 Bhagath
Singh, 6 Mahatma Gandhi, 7 Martin Luther King, 8 Sadako Sasaki, 9 B R Ambedkar, 10 Charlie Chaplin, 11 Mother Theresa, 12 Bob Marley, 13 Nelson Mandela, 14 Che Guevara, 15 Anne Frank.
